Ray Goren + Dayle Hammers are the best duo since Hall & Oates. They are both child prodigies who met at a production camp produced by the German powerhouse label PLYGRND and decided to combine their magickal powers together to form the super group MAYOR. Their debut EP “Running From Sunshine” is only about 10 minutes. However it took me about 2 hours to listen to it because I was on another planet fully immersed in the sonic experience. Yes, it coulda have been the Mary Jane, but I swear the production on this project is the best I’ve heard in years. Truth be told, my opinion about their music is completely biased. I’ve known Ray Goren since he was a child and I’ve seen his greatness since day one. He was always a phenomenal musician and songwriter, but with Dayle in the fold his production has ascended to brand new heights. I promise you this project is so special and I am excited for these beautiful souls. You couldn’t meet kinder more self aware and humble giants in the whole world. Dayle literally has the production chops of a 65 year old from engineer from the Motown era and Ray literally has the soul of the late 70s early 80s in a person. He’s like Bob Dylan and Prince did a dragonball fusion. Anyways, enough rambling. Go listen to the music and when I throw a show with Mayor yall better bring yall a$$. It’s gonna be some life changing epic sh**.
